The synchronization of Android policies is not performed by the Urmobo app, but rather by Google itself.
On all devices enrolled via AFW, there is an app called Android Device Policy (available on the Play Store), which is responsible for enforcing these policies.
Whenever a policy is saved — whether it's the addition of an app or a change in some configuration — Urmobo sends these changes to Google through an integration. Google, in turn, delivers these modifications to the devices via the Android Device Policy app.
This process may take a few minutes for the changes to be recognized and applied on the device.
How to force synchronization
If it's necessary to apply the policy urgently, there are two options:
- Restart the device: when restarting, the Android Device Policy automatically performs a new synchronization.
- Force synchronization via the portal:
Go to the "Devices" menu, locate the device in the list, and click "Edit" in the device's action menu, as shown in the image below.
On the screen that opens, scroll to the "Information" tab, and then access the "Policy" sub-tab. In this section, you'll find the details of the policy to which the device is linked.
In the field referring to the policy name, click the refresh icon (as shown in the image below). This will send a forced policy synchronization command to the device.
However, there are a few points that can be checked and may help resolve the issue.
The first point is the quality of the network to which the devices are connected, as this directly affects the synchronization process.
The second point is to check the Firewall Whitelist Manual, especially if the devices are connected to a corporate network. This manual can be accessed directly on the platform via the menu "Help & Support > Manuals", or through this link.
This document lists all the addresses that devices need to access for the proper functioning of both Urmobo and Android Device Policy. If any of these addresses are blocked by the firewall, the system may experience failures or delays in applying the policies.
